Best Buy drops Surface Laptop to $999.99
Through Thursday, July 30th, Best Buy is selling the 2026 Surface Laptop with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage at $999.99. The laptop uses the 10-core Snapdragon X2 Plus chip — Arm-based, not Intel — and comes in black or dune color options. The 2024 review by The Verge called the design a highlight, noting battery life that stretches hours beyond most. This version improves slightly in performance, mainly due to the chip bump, and adds color choices.
At $999.99, this model costs about the same as the entry-level 8GB/256GB version, which is still available for $750. The Verge’s recent experiment with the base model didn’t end well. They found the 8GB version to be sluggish, especially when multitasking. The 16GB/512GB version, however, handles that work without complaint. The double storage is a bonus, but the real win is the memory.
More tech deals on sale for the same deadline
Best Buy is also discounting two gaming laptops with the RTX 5060 GPU and 32GB of DDR5 RAM. The A16, with an Intel i7 and 1TB of storage, is now $1,099.99. Both will run out of stock fast when the sale ends.
Switch 2 users will find microSD Express cards more affordable, too. PNY’s 512GB model is at $99.99, a drop from the usual $130. For $54.99, the same brand offers a 256GB card — though why double when you could skip the step and go straight to more space?

Not every deal is high-tech. Macy’s has discounted the Lego Game Boy to $47.99, from $59.99. The 421-piece set builds a full Game Boy replica, with lenticular panels that shift images of Link’s Awakening and Super Mario Land as you move it.
