Apple continues to grow its Made for iPhone (MFi) program, giving more users access to devices that improve hearing and communication. On the latest update, Apple listed 43 new hearing aid models across 22 different brands that work with iPhone, iPad, Mac, and the Apple Vision Pro. These devices include support for both unidirectional and bidirectional audio, letting users choose what best fits their needs.
Bidirectional streaming expands with MFi update
Bidirectional audio is particularly helpful, as it allows users to talk hands-free while also listening to audio, making interactions more natural. Several models have been updated to offer bidirectional support, including the Entra A X from Bernafon and the Edge AI from Starkey. This change enhances accessibility for users who rely on clear and real-time communication.
The latest MFi update also introduced four new brands—Bellson, MicroSom, RION, and Yeasound—each with their own range of hearing devices compatible with Apple products. These additions are now featured on Apple’s official MFi page, the central hub for users who want to verify if their hearing device works with Apple devices.
MacBook Neo support enhances MFi compatibility
Apple expanded its MFi capabilities by including support for the MacBook Neo. With macOS 26 (Tahoe), the MacBook Neo is now compatible with both unidirectional and bidirectional streaming. This offers more flexibility for users who rely on hearing devices connected to their Mac. This inclusion marks an important step in making Apple’s MFi ecosystem more accessible.
While Apple’s MFi program includes a wide range of products, including smart home accessories, gaming controllers, and fitness trackers, the focus of this update is clearly on hearing devices. The inclusion of 43 new models across 22 brands and the addition of bidirectional support for several existing models showcase Apple’s commitment to expanding accessibility for hearing aid users.
The full MFi hearing devices list now includes 623 models across 104 brands. For anyone wanting to explore the latest additions or find compatible devices, Apple has updated its official MFi website. The update also introduces several brands for the first time, reflecting Apple’s ongoing efforts to partner with a broader network of manufacturers.
