Samsung has released One UI 9 Beta 4 for the Galaxy S26 Ultra, bringing a useful upgrade to the Privacy Display feature. Before this update, users who turned on Privacy Display in picture-in-picture (PiP) mode found the entire screen obscured. This made it hard to use other apps or check notifications without toggling the feature off.
With the new version, only the PiP window is covered by the Privacy Display. The rest of the phone's screen stays fully visible, allowing users to continue using their device normally while watching videos or other PiP content. Users can still drag the PiP window across the display, and the Edge Panel remains accessible without being blocked.
This update brings Samsung closer to the improvements it previewed at the MWC earlier in 2026. The company had said that Privacy Display would be better integrated with multitasking, and this update finally makes that possible. The tweak shows how the privacy feature is evolving — becoming more versatile without compromising how people use their phones.
Those on the S26 Ultra beta program can install the update using the Samsung Members app. While the change might seem small, it’s a sign that Samsung is improving both privacy and convenience for users who rely on features like Privacy Display in their daily use.
