Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Privacy Display Gets PiP Support in One UI 9 Beta

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra users can now obscure picture-in-picture videos using Privacy Display in One UI 9 beta.

The essentials
  • Privacy Display can now hide PiP videos, not the whole screen.
  • Feature works as PiP window moves and excludes Edge Panel overlays.

Samsung’s Privacy Display has always blurred content at sharp viewing angles. The latest One UI 9 beta expands this to picture-in-picture videos on the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Now, a floating PiP window can be cloaked from side-view visibility without hiding the rest of the screen.

A tipster named Ice Universe demonstrated how this works: if you enable Privacy Display for YouTube and then shrink the video into PiP, the window becomes invisible to anyone off-axis, but the rest of the screen remains visible. This means you can watch a video discreetly while scrolling or typing elsewhere.

The feature is app-specific. Users must enable Privacy Display individually for each PiP-compatible app, and cannot turn it on for the full screen — it won’t work with PiP otherwise. Samsung Community reports also note that the PiP Privacy Display avoids covering interactive elements like the Edge Panel, adapting to movement as the window shifts.

The update arrives with the fourth One UI 9 beta, and is currently exclusive to Galaxy S26 Ultra testers running the software. A full rollout is not yet confirmed.

“Samsung has introduced a very useful upgrade to the Privacy Display feature on the Galaxy S26 Ultra in One UI 9.”
