The essentials
  • Yoruichi is part of Fortnite's second Bleach crossover wave.
  • Fortnite's initial skin design is less revealing than her manga and anime appearances.
  • Yoruichi and Kisuke Urahara are set to appear in the Item Shop on August 7.

The release of Yoruichi Shihouin skin

Fortnite has introduced Yoruichi Shihouin as part of its ongoing Bleach crossover, offering players a first glimpse of the skin on August 4. Yoruichi, a former captain of the Soul Society’s Second Division, is known for her impressive speed and transforming into a black cat. Fortnite's design, shared via the French Fortnite account, is considered more restrained than her appearances in the original Bleach manga and anime.

Yoruichi's skin is the latest in a line of crossover characters. The collaboration began in December 2025 with characters like Ichigo Kurosaki and Rukia Kuchiki. The skin includes regular and ninja styles, along with a back bling, pickaxe, emote, and wrap. Earlier leaks hinted at a Shunko: Raijin Senkei style, though Fortnite has not confirmed the alternate looks yet.

Fan reactions and expectations

Players are expressing hope that Epic Games will retain Yoruichi's more revealing designs. One Reddit user pleaded, “Do the least amount of nerfing to our thunder goddess, Fortnite! We beg of you.” Another player eagerly announced, “I’m buying Yoruichi as soon as she’s on the store.” Yoruichi's skin follows Fortnite's recent trend of swimsuit and summer-themed skins, such as Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn, which also drew considerable attention.

The skin is expected to be available in the Fortnite Item Shop on August 7 at 8 PM ET. No official pricing has been announced for Yoruichi and Kisuke Urahara's skins. The collaboration is part of Fortnite's continued strategy to introduce new characters from various media, drawing in fans and encouraging in-game purchases.

With Yoruichi and Kisuke set to appear, fans are eager to see how Epic Games will handle the skin designs. The anticipation is high, as players hope for a balance between the original character's iconic traits and the game's visual style.

Between the lines

Fortnite's choice to introduce Yoruichi suggests a strategy to blend fan service with game design, keeping players engaged and hopeful for more revealing looks in future updates.
