Crimson Moon Set for 2026 Release with New Details on Co-op and Editions
PlayStation has set a specific launch for the upcoming action title Crimson Moon, releasing it on September 1, 2026. This confirmation came through a recent PlayStation Blog update, which also gave players a closer look at new features in the game. Developed by Probably Monsters, Crimson Moon allows players to take on hunts either solo or with a friend in online co-op mode.
During each hunt, the difficulty adjusts automatically depending on whether one or two players are participating, ensuring a consistent challenge. The co-op mechanics also include a shared health pool, enabling players to revive one another during hunts. However, every time a player dies, the whole team moves closer to mission failure, adding a layer of teamwork and caution.
For those interested in purchasing Crimson Moon, the game is being released in two formats. The Standard Edition is available for $19.99 and includes just the core game. The Deluxe Edition, which costs $29.99, offers extra items like a Ceremonial Armor Set, the Axe of the Gods — a unique guitar-shaped axe — and access to post-launch expansions. The price for the Deluxe Edition is $10 higher than the Standard Edition.
An added benefit for PlayStation 5 users is exclusive in-game content. All buyers on PS5 will receive the Sonai Magistrate Armor Set at launch, regardless of whether they choose the Standard or Deluxe Edition. PS5 Pro owners will also notice improved performance through native support for PSSR, which enhances the gaming experience.
