Will Ospreay had been vocal all week about the dream team he and his allies formed. 'We make the kind of trio no one can match,' he told Omega backstage, with Moxley walking in to say the peace held strong between them. It didn’t last.
Titles on the line, tensions in the ring
Two title defenses carried the night. Kevin Knight, in the midst of his historic 21-title-defense streak for the TNT Championship, faced a hard-charging Darby Allin. In a chaotic, technical battle, Knight survived with a pinfall, proving yet again that he could do it without the Don Callis Family's help — and without a crowd in ringside.
Meanwhile, Megan Bayne and Lena Kross defended the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Titles in a no-DQ match against Julia Hart and Skye Blue. The reigning champs came out swinging, and despite a number of near-falls and a few hard-hitting moments, Bayne and Kross walked out victorious. No championship is safe at Redemption, but for now, they held theirs.
Behind the curtain — the real drama
Post-match fireworks are the lifeblood of wrestling, but on this night, they came early and often. After the trios main event, Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley squared off in the center of the ring. The tension had been building all night, with Moxley’s aggression and Omega’s calculated cool simmering. The Young Bucks tried to intervene, but the night wasn’t over yet.
Just as Omega seemed about to regain control, Kevin Knight blindsided him. 'You think you're ready for Redemption? Try being blindsided by a champion,' Knight later said in an on-air message, flashing a grin over his shoulder.
The road ahead — not all smooth
Before the chaos began, Kyle Fletcher had a moment of defiance. 'I don’t need the Don Callis Family's help,' he said, addressing Knight’s record, before announcing that everyone was banned from ringside for his match next week. Fletcher and his partner Okada lost in the night’s tag match, but his next opportunity could be his turning point.
And then there was Willow Nightingale. On stage with Thekla, she claimed she didn’t have to convince anyone who she was. Thekla, for her part, promised to beat the 'poison out' of her. Neither looked like they were backing down — and that’s exactly the kind of thing Redemption needs.
By the time the final bell rang, the show had done what it set out to do: raise the stakes. Redemption wasn’t just on the horizon — it was in sight.
