New mission in Bolivia
The Ghost Recon Wildlands update, Last Rites, was developed by Ubisoft Bordeaux. This new mission is set in a darker, more hostile version of Bolivia, where players must track down La Llorona, the cult leader of Los Penitentes. The environment includes dangerous swamps and thick forests with low visibility and high danger.
Visual and gameplay improvements
The update offers a 60 FPS gameplay experience, alongside visual upgrades for current-gen consoles and PC. These improvements include smoother combat, enhanced distance rendering, better lighting and shadow effects, and visuals optimized for 4K resolution. These changes provide a more immersive and refined experience for players.
Tribute to the franchise with free access
To mark the 25th anniversary, Ghost Recon Wildlands and Breakpoint are available to play for free from 6–10 August. Ghost Recon: Future Soldier can be redeemed for free on PC from 6–13 August. These events give players a chance to experience some of the franchise's most iconic titles at no cost.
The Breakpoint 25th Anniversary Bundle will be available in September. This bundle includes free items such as the M4A1 Tactical Brown, Wolf Enhanced Helmet, and Opheis Mk.II Hunter. These rewards offer players a way to customize their experience in the game.
Olivier Leonardi, the Creative Director, highlighted the impact of the community's passion and feedback over the past 25 years. The update is designed to honor the franchise's legacy and offer an experience that feels authentic to longtime fans. Players can fully customize their gameplay by adjusting parameters such as enemy behavior, damage values, and more to suit their preferred level of challenge and realism.
In addition to these features, the Predator event is returning. This iconic event allows players to face a deadly extraterrestrial threat, giving them a chance to relive one of the most memorable experiences in the Ghost Recon series. The ability to tailor gameplay further enhances the sense of immersion and personalization.
