The essentials
  • TCC Group Holdings Co. is evaluating a London IPO for its European business.
  • The listing is expected to raise funds for TCC's expanding energy and electric vehicle sectors.

Sources close to the matter indicate London has emerged as the leading choice for TCC Group Holdings Co. to launch an initial public offering for its European operations. The company, which has previously evaluated Amsterdam, Frankfurt, and Paris as possible venues, now appears to have selected the UK capital as the most suitable market for its listing.

TCC Group, originally founded as Taiwan Cement Corp. in 1946, has expanded significantly over the years into a diversified multinational conglomerate with a market capitalization of around NT$177 billion ($5.5 billion). Approximately 44% of its total revenue is now derived from European operations, highlighting the region's strategic importance. This has made the possibility of listing in Europe, and London in particular, a key consideration for the firm.

What London brings to the table

London's financial market is gaining increased attention from companies seeking to raise capital internationally. Along with TCC, Dangote Cement Plc from Nigeria and cybersecurity firm AlgoSec Inc. The city’s well-developed financial infrastructure and access to deep liquidity pools are key factors attracting overseas firms, reinforcing its role as a hub for global capital markets.

TCC’s next step

A company spokesperson confirmed that TCC is actively assessing the feasibility of a European IPO for its European business. They said the London Stock Exchange is being evaluated as one of the possible venues. However, they emphasized that no final decision has yet been made. The ultimate choice of where to list will rest with the TCC board of directors. The board will review all factors before making a determination.

What's next

TCC’s board will determine the final listing venue, possibly later this year.
