What you need to know before kickoff
Canal+ announced today it has acquired the live broadcasting rights for all four test matches in the Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry series. The series will be played between the Springboks and All Blacks from 22 August to 12 September. Viewers interested in watching the matches will need a DStv Premium subscription. The monthly cost is set at R980.
Provincial matches also part of the package
These include the DHL Stormers on 7 August, the Hollywoodbets Sharks on 11 August, the Vodacom Bulls on 15 August, and the Lions on 25 August. All matches will air on channels 201 and 211. Importantly, the broadcasting deal is not exclusive to South Africa but will be extended to Canal+’s 'Rest of Africa' market via both DStv and GOtv platforms. Coverage will also include commentary and analysis from Toby Shapshak and Andy Capostagno, who will provide insights and perspectives for Stuff Rugby readers.
