Ohtani's New Record in the Making
Ohtani's current public record for a card is $3 million, which was achieved in December 2025 for a Topps Chrome Gold Logoman Autograph card. This card highlighted his 2024 National League MVP Award and included a patch from that season, along with his signature. In March 2026, another one-of-a-kind card featuring Ohtani and Aaron Judge fetched $2.16 million, as both players were MVP winners that year. The $11 million price is striking when measured against Ohtani’s existing card records. His 2025 Topps Chrome MVP Gold Logoman autograph sold for $3 million, including the buyer’s premium, through Fanatics Collect in December 2025. At the time, it was the highest publicly reported sale for an Ohtani card and the highest-selling Dodgers card. A dual Gold Logoman card featuring Ohtani and New York Yankees star Aaron Judge later sold for $2.16 million after receiving 52 bids.
The new bounty is over three times the $3 million record and nearly five times the price of the Ohtani-Judge card. Even though the $10 million offer does not guarantee that the card will sell for that amount, it shows how aggressively the market is responding to Ohtani's rare memorabilia. The newly reported $11 million figure exceeds both public offers. One signature is in English and the other is in Japanese kanji, according to Topps’ reveal and reporting from Collecting on SI. The new card carries features those earlier releases cannot fully match. It combines two MVP patches, two signatures and Ohtani’s distinction as the only subject on the card. Its design also commemorates consecutive award-winning seasons rather than one isolated achievement.
Topps has included the card in their 2026 Chrome Baseball series, meaning only one copy exists and it is still sealed in a pack. Until the card is pulled and accepted by Grade10, the $10 million remains a conditional offer. Still, the card’s rarity and significance are hard to downplay. Because the card is still a one-of-one chase item, its ultimate public value would depend on several factors, including who pulls it, whether the owner accepts a private offer and whether it eventually reaches an auction house.

August 26 is more than just an end date—it's a countdown. Collectors who manage to find the card before the deadline would get a guaranteed $10 million offer. If the card is pulled after that time, the value might still be enormous, but the terms and conditions would change significantly.
