Stuart Seymour continued to shine at the 2026 USA Swimming Futures meet in Madison, Wisconsin, capturing two more individual wins on the third night. The soon-to-be Northwestern senior outperformed his teammate Cade Duncan in both the 50 backstroke and 100 butterfly. In the 100 butterfly, Seymour bested his personal best by nearly half a second, finishing in 52.24.
The 50 backstroke was a standout event where Seymour clocked 24.89, cutting half a second from his previous best of 25.33. Duncan followed in second with 25.99, just a hundredth of a second shy of his best from last August, 25.98. Seymour has improved by over a second since July 2023, when he touched 25.98.
Seymour’s 52.24 in the 100 butterfly marked another PB, faster than his 2025 best of 52.73. Duncan’s 52.54 was three tenths behind and a full second drop from his 53.48 at the Indianapolis Pro Swim Series. Duncan’s progress, while notable, still lags behind Seymour’s.
In the girls’ 50 backstroke, Devyn Sargent touched in 29.41, narrowly missing her best of 29.26 from June. Joslyn Bolton, Miami-bound, came second in 29.53, a full second ahead of her 2025 best of 30.55.
Molly Sweeney, headed to Tennessee, won the girls’ 100 fly in 59.78—three tenths slower than her 2025 National Championship mark of 59.46. Only Sweeney broke 1:00, as Kam Gardiner placed second with 1:00.73, dropping a full second from her June time of 1:01.43.
Other Individual Event Winners at Madison Futures
Izzy Enz (WISC) took the girls’ 400 free in 4:18.09. Eli Rolfsen (GKC) claimed the boys’ 400 free in 3:56.08. Madi King (LFSC) led the girls’ 200 breast in 2:34.81, while Charlie Camplin (MOR) swept the boys’ 200 breast in 2:14.38.
The depth of talent shone through with standout performances across multiple events at the 2026 USA Swimming Futures. The meet runs through August 1, 2026, at the Soderholm Aquatic Center’s 50m pool.
