Samsung recently introduced its latest foldable smartphones at an Unpacked event in London. The Galaxy Z Fold 8, Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Galaxy Flip 8 were officially launched, marking a new chapter in smartphone design and innovation. Almost immediately, AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile began accepting pre-orders for these models, each offering unique discounts and incentives to customers. These carriers are not only slashing prices but also bundling free accessories and smartwatches to make the purchases more attractive.

AT&T offers free foldables with trade-in

AT&T is leading the charge with some of the most aggressive pricing. The carrier is giving the Galaxy Z Fold 8 away for free to eligible customers who trade in an old device. The pricier Z Fold 8 Ultra is also heavily discounted at $1,900 off under the same trade-in terms. For those looking for a more compact foldable, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 is available for $1,000 less when traded up.

Additionally, qualifying customers can get the Galaxy Watch 9 or the Galaxy Tab A11+ 5G for just $1.99 each month. AT&T is also offering a 50% discount on any Samsung accessory if the customer buys a Galaxy flagship device.

Verizon bundles devices with streaming services and free wearables

Verizon is pushing its Simplicity Plan as a key part of its offer. Under this plan, the 256GB Galaxy Z Fold 8 is priced at $30 per month for 48 months. This deal doesn’t require a trade-in, making it an attractive option for customers who already own a compatible device. For those upgrading or adding a new line, the Z Fold 8 Ultra is available for $35 per month, reducing the cost by $420 compared to the full price.

Eligible customers on Verizon’s Unlimited Plus or Unlimited Ultimate plans who trade in a device can receive a $1,100 discount on either the Z Fold 8 or the Z Fold 8 Ultra. Additionally, those who purchase a new Samsung device or bring one into the network get the Galaxy Watch 9 for free or can opt for the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 at just $8 per month. As a bonus, new customers get six months of Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ (with ads) when they buy the Z Fold 8 or Z Fold 8 Ultra.

T-Mobile matches with $1,900 savings and free smartwatches

T-Mobile is keeping up with the competition by offering the Galaxy Z Fold 8 at no upfront cost to those who trade in an eligible device on the Experience Beyond and Go5G Next plans. With a $1,900 discount, the Z Fold 8 Ultra is available for just $200, a major price reduction for what is otherwise a top-tier device.

For the Galaxy Z Flip 8, the savings are $1,100 when trading in a device or adding a new line, bringing the final cost down to $100. Smartwatch enthusiasts can get the Galaxy Watch 9 for free as part of the Watch Plan Plus, while the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is available for $270 in monthly bill credits over a two-year period.

T-Mobile is also offering a 25% discount on a bundled set of accessories, including a screen protector, phone case, and a version of the new Samsung Buds. However, this deal is only available starting July 30, so customers need to act quickly to take advantage.

In-store availability for all models will begin on August 7, but customers can already place pre-orders through their preferred carrier. Samsung has already begun rolling out shipments ahead of this date for eager buyers. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Fold 8 Ultra come with notable hardware upgrades, including faster charging times, which should help offset concerns about their high price tags. With all these deals in play, now is an ideal time to consider one of these premium devices.

“Samsung has delivered some decent hardware upgrades for its flagships, such as the long-overdue improvements to charging speeds.”
The catch

Despite the steep discounts, some deals are only available under specific carrier plans and for limited time, such as T-Mobile’s accessory bundle expiring on July 30.
