The Sachsenlandhalle in Glauchau, on the cusp of its 30th anniversary, will play host to more than just local action on 11 August. As the home of HC Glauchau/Meerane, it will instead showcase an inter-regional clash between THSV Eisenach, a Bundesliga club, and EHV Aue, who compete in the third tier. The event is being positioned as a 'test match blockbuster' by the local team's administration, who are already drumming up support and hoping for a full house.
Eisenach is expected to bring their A-game, including their top players. The game kicks off at 7 pm, but fans are encouraged to arrive early for the under-16 match between local and Aue-Chemnitz teams, which starts at 4:30 pm. Members of the hosting club will manage food and drink services.
Tickets for adults have been set at 10 euros, while children under 14 can attend for 7 euros. Frank Blauhut, a board member, has observed an unusual surge in group bookings from regional youth handball teams. This early attention to ticket sales has already led to the club's online pre-sale being in motion for weeks.
