Renault Group's electrification strategy is showing traction, with electric and hybrid vehicles now accounting for 52% of its European sales in the first half of 2026. This reflects a shift toward value-focused, high-quality sales that is reshaping the Group's market position.
Internationally, Renault Group strengthened its presence in key markets. Sales in India jumped 61.2%, while Türkiye, Morocco, and Brazil saw double-digit growth of 15.4%, 13.7%, and 5.3%, respectively. The Group's Renault brand saw its second consecutive year of sales growth, up 2.8% overall.
In Europe, the Group sold 821,092 units of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. The Renault brand was the second-largest in the region, with 528,849 units sold, a 2.6% increase. The Renault 5 became the top-selling B-segment electric car in Europe.
Dacia, the Group’s budget brand, sold 284,021 units, but that was down 8.7%. The Dacia Sandero remained the best-selling car in Europe, and the brand saw improved momentum in the second quarter.
Alpine, the performance arm, set a new sales record in its first six months, delivering 8,222 vehicles, a 67.6% increase. The Alpine A290 continues to lead, and the Alpine A390, now in its first deliveries, added new momentum.
The European light commercial vehicle market showed a slight 2.1% recovery, and Renault LCV sales rose 11.7%. The Master range helped the brand maintain second place in the segment.
Across its five main European markets, Renault Group sold 60% of its cars through retail channels, 3.8 percentage points higher than last year. That’s 17.7 points above the market average, reflecting a disciplined strategy to reduce exposure to low-profit sales routes.
Residual value management also improved, with Renault's cars holding value 4 to 13 percentage points above the competition across Europe. An order book of 2.1 months at the end of June 2026 suggests strong forward visibility.
In terms of electrification, Renault led the Group with 66.3% of its European sales being electrified in H1 2026. Battery electric vehicles accounted for 26.6% of those, driven by models like the Renault 5 E-Tech and Scenic E-Tech.
Dacia’s electrified sales reached 30.8%, up 7.2 percentage points, with hybrids making up a quarter of its sales. Hybrid sales rose 30.2%, led by the Duster and Bigster.
Alpine is accelerating its EV push, with more than 80% of its sales now electric. The success of Alpine A290 and the launch of A390 are propelling the brand into its next phase.
Looking ahead, Renault Group will introduce new models in 2026, including the Twingo E-Tech in Europe, Duster in India, and Trafic Van E-Tech. Dacia will bring out a new hybrid Sandero, Spring, and Striker, while Alpine will launch the A390 GTS.
