Perseus Mining Limited, an Australian-listed gold mining firm with key operations in West Africa, has achieved a major financial milestone. As of the conclusion of the June 2026 quarter, the company announced holding $1.03 billion in cash and bullion, supported by $233 million in liquid listed securities. These figures, as detailed in the Financial Post, highlight a year of consistent operational performance, including robust gold production and targeted investments in growth projects.
During Q4 FY26, Perseus produced 109,013 ounces of gold, achieving an average cash margin of $2,145 per ounce. This performance generated $216 million in notional operating cash flow for the quarter and a record $769 million for the full FY26 financial year. CEO Craig Jones credited this success to the company’s strong execution, particularly at its Nyanzaga Gold Project (NGP) and the Yaouré CMA Underground operation.
At Yaouré CMA Underground, the company began stoping operations during the quarter and extracted 8,472 ounces of gold before commercial production. Meanwhile, the Nyanzaga Gold Project is now 67% complete and remains on schedule for its first production in January 2027. These developments are crucial in Perseus’s strategy to expand its gold production capacity.
In addition to production advancements, Perseus has prioritized returning value to shareholders. The company increased its share buyback program to A$150 million, reflecting the strength of its financial position. The quarter also saw leadership changes, with Wade Bickley appointed as Chief Operating Officer and Tommy McKeith added to the Board as an independent Non-Executive Director.
Perseus has outlined ambitious production goals for FY27, projecting gold output between 420,000 and 480,000 ounces, with All-In Site Costs (AISC) ranging from $1,835 to $2,070 per ounce. These projections are based on a gold price of $4,000 per ounce and consider royalty rates in Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana. The company is confident in its ability to meet these targets while maintaining operational efficiency.
To provide deeper insight into its results, Perseus will hold a conference call and investor webinar on July 30, 2026. Additional upcoming events include an annual Mineral Resources update in August, a site visit to the Nyanzaga Gold Project in September, and participation in the Mining Forum Americas in Colorado. These engagements are designed to keep investors informed and updated on the company’s progress.
Looking ahead, Perseus is focused on the full commercial production of its two major growth projects, the CMA Underground and Nyanzaga, by the end of FY27. CEO Craig Jones described FY27 as a transformational year for Perseus, emphasizing the role of these projects in the company’s long-term growth strategy. These initiatives are expected to significantly enhance Perseus’s production capacity and profitability.
