The essentials
  • Eric Perrot trained in Norway with his new shooting coach Siegfried Mazet.
  • Perrot's training schedule aligned with what the rest of the French team did back home.

Training in Norway with new coach

Eric Perrot took time in the summer to be in Norway, the homeland of his mother. He traveled cross-country with his partner Chloe Lacreuse in a van and trained along the way. During the run-up to the Blink Festival in Sandnes, Perrot met many of his French national team colleagues and his new shooting coach Siegfried Mazet.

Mazet had already decided in the summer to travel to Scandinavia in early August. 'The goal after Perrot's solo time in Norway was to spend some training days together with him,' Mazet said in an interview with the 'Nordic Magazine.' 'Since he was planning to compete anyway, I proposed that the others, especially the younger athletes, come along and take part as well.' That's how Emilien Claude, Oscar Lombardot, and Gaetan Paturel decided to take part in the Blink Festival for the first time.

Training progress and alignment with team

Mazet recently found Perrot in Sandnes to be 'just as we left him two and a half months ago.' The two had met for introductory days in late May in Premanon. 'Since then, he has made his own decisions regarding training. He lived with his family in Norway and did the athleticism training put together by Simon Fourcade,' Mazet revealed. 'That's the same program the others in France do.'

Perrot 'keeps up with the rest of the squad' and is 'fully in order,' according to Mazet. 'He did not do as much as the others, but he came close to them when it came to shooting training.' How much shape the reigning overall World Cup champion is in will become clear in the coming days. The competitions in Sandnes will take place from August 5th to 8th.
