The Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) has been named in two categories for the 2026 Sports Business Awards. The PDC is shortlisted for Best Sports Event of the Year. The 2025/26 Paddy Power World Darts Championship is in the running. It is also shortlisted for Best Sports Community Scheme Special Impact. Its Darts on Your Doorstep initiative is the nominee.
Fourth Consecutive Nomination for Best Event
The PDC’s Paddy Power World Darts Championship has made it to the Best Sports Event of the Year category. This is for the fourth time in a row. The 2025/26 version of the tournament is in the same category. It competes as it has in recent years. This follows the success of the 2023/24 edition. That edition won the award in 2024.
That most recent championship was a sell-out, with Luke Littler taking back-to-back titles. The PDC’s long-term strategic work in building relationships with broadcasters like SKY, globalizing the game, and developing a youth system has led to this recognition.
The Darts on Your Doorstep program, launched in November 2024, is also up for a Best Sports Community Scheme Special Impact award. Run in partnership with Smart Energy GB, the initiative spreads awareness of smart meters and provides community-focused darts clubs with high-quality Winmau equipment.
Top darts stars like Luke Humphries and Jonny Clayton have attended launch events for the initiative, underlining its positive impact on local clubs. This follows previous recognition, including the 2023 bronze for the Bullseye Maths numeracy scheme in the Best Sports Community or CSR Scheme category.
Awards Ceremony Set for November 27
The 2026 Sports Business Awards will be held in London on November 27. Winners of the event and community categories will be announced that night.
