The Olympia Spartans football team is entering the 2026 season with full confidence and a clear objective. Returning 16 starters from a team that rushed for over 4,000 yards, the Spartans are ready for a dominant fall. The team made the playoffs last year. Senior running back Jimmy Lollar earned 3A all-state honors in the previous season. He has set the tone, stating he wants a state championship. He believes the entire squad is united in that pursuit.
Lollar is not alone in his expectations. Senior Brendon Hardiman and junior Kaden Collins will share ball-carrying duties, forming a three-pronged rushing attack. This trio benefits from a strong offensive line, led by senior Cael Halley, a Southern Illinois University recruit who is critical to the Spartans’ success on the ground.
Halley is just as confident in the team’s potential as Lollar. 'If we lose a game, we're going to get back to where we need to be,' he said. 'When we're working well across the board—offense, defense, and everything else—there's not a team in the state that can stop us.' His words reflect the belief the Spartans share. They believe in making a deep playoff run.
The season opens at Auburn on Aug. 21, a test of their readiness and resolve. With their depth and experienced roster, the Spartans are prepared to face the challenges ahead and compete for a state title.
