The essentials
  • Denny Hamlin leads the rankings with Chase Briscoe on the second step.
  • Ryan Blaney and Ty Gibbs secure third and fourth places.
  • Christopher Bell maintains fifth despite no wins.

NASCAR fans might have expected the rankings to shift after an off week, but not much has changed at the top. Denny Hamlin still holds the No. 1 spot, with Chase Briscoe right behind in second. Hamlin, despite a slight drop in performance from his earlier dominant stretch, continues to outperform the field in recent oval races.

Briscoe, often called 'The Other Chase,' has moved closer to the top with consistent performances. But the question remains: can he hold the position? The coming weeks will test his grip on the second spot.

Ryan Blaney rounds out the top three, though he may not be celebrating after his near-miss at Indianapolis where a better finish could have netted him a million dollars. Ty Gibbs sits in fourth, building points but yet to secure a win, with many predicting a breakthrough in August.

Christopher Bell, known as 'Mr. Bridesmaid' for his six runner-up finishes this season, remains fifth. Carson Hocevar follows in sixth, facing a tough stretch with three short tracks and a Daytona race coming up.

Tyler Reddick, one of just three drivers with 15 top-10 finishes this year and the only one without a win, holds the seventh position. Chase Elliott, despite being popular, has struggled recently with just one top-10 in his last 11 races, putting his spot in jeopardy.

Joey Logano remains in eighth after a strong July but knows he can’t afford to ease up. Corey Heim, once a top-10 regular, may have trouble returning to the list unless he secures a win soon.
