On top of those, five monster cores, one pink diamond, one ancient firefly, and a medium essence stone must be procured. Collecting all of these items is no small feat.
Monster cores can be found in the lower parts of the mines, dropped by lantern enemies or flame spirits. Pink diamonds are even harder to find, only appearing at mine level 81 and above. Players can also try a gem-cutting date with their partner on the weekend for a chance to receive one as a reward. Additionally, the ancient firefly is a rare catch, requiring players to use a net in the Ancient Ruins, which can only be accessed at mine level 81 and beyond.
Cheat sheets and shortcuts for the impatient
For those who don’t want to grind the most tedious resources, the game offers a few shortcuts. Players can buy gold and Mistril ore at set prices using tesserae, the in-game currency. For example, purchasing 40 gold ore from the blacksmith costs 8,000 tesserae, and players can craft the necessary gold ingots from there.
Players can also buy 50 mistril ore from the blacksmith for 20,000 tesserae and craft five mistril ingots, one of which is needed for the Dragon-Forged Core. Large bundles of stone are another option—available for 2,000 tesserae at the carpenter shop, these provide 100 stone, most of which is used to craft diamonds and the medium essence stone.
Still, even with these shortcuts, the engagement ring remains a significant investment of time and effort. For many, the journey to get that final item is part of the fun—especially for those looking to make their in-game romance feel real.
