Lahore Hawks and Army continued their winning form at the Pakistan Rugby Academy in Lahore Cantt. During the 12th Service Tyres Pakistan Rugby Union (PRU) National 15-a-Side Championship, both teams secured decisive victories over Police and Desert Camels Fort Abbas.
Hawks dominate Police
In the first match, Lahore Hawks delivered a relentless performance against Police, winning 69-0. The Hawks went into halftime with a 22-0 lead and continued their strong showing in the second half. Umar was the standout with five tries, while Arsalan and Waqas added two tries each.
The match saw contributions from Ahmad, Salman, and Hassan, each scoring once to complete a comprehensive 69-0 victory. Lahore’s dominance was evident from the outset, leaving little room for Police to counter.
Army overwhelms Desert Camels
Army continued their dominant run with a 48-5 win over Desert Camels Fort Abbas. They led 26-0 at halftime before closing out the match with another strong second-half performance. Mudassar was the top scorer for Army, netting three tries.
Sadaqat, Wahab, and Rehman each added one try apiece to secure Army’s commanding victory. The Desert Camels struggled to break Army’s defense and failed to mount a significant challenge throughout the match.
PRU Championship progress
The Pakistan Rugby Union (PRU) organized the 12th edition of the championship, featuring six top teams competing for national honors. Rizwan Malik, PRU President, praised the high level of competition and expressed optimism that the tournament would help identify and prepare a strong national team by the end of the season.
The championship includes teams such as Lahore Hawks, Army, Police, WAPDA, and Desert Camels Fort Abbas, with the event drawing large crowds and a supportive presence from rugby enthusiasts and organizers.
