Japan immediately asserted their strength by scoring four goals in a row to open the match at 4-0, sending a clear message about their intentions. The victory put Japan in a strong position in Group G, with a lead in goal difference that put them at the top of the standings and gave them a clear edge in their bid for a place in the main round.
Strong defense and balanced attack
Japan’s defense was a major force throughout the match, pressuring Angola into 31 unforced errors, which Japan quickly turned into 13 fast goals. The halftime score of 19-9 left little doubt about the outcome, as Japan continued to maintain control of the game.
