Urgent Appeal: Locate and Protect Human Rights Defender Yin Xu’an
Yin Xu’an, a human rights defender, was reportedly taken into custody by Chinese authorities in Beijing in August 2025 as he sought desperately needed medical treatment. Despite repeated efforts by his family and supporters to find him, his current status, location, and condition remain a mystery, raising deep concerns about his safety and wellbeing.
Yin has long struggled with health issues, and in the past, faced obstacles in accessing proper care due to interference by officials. These prior incidents, combined with the current lack of information, have led to fears for his health and the potential for further mistreatment. Human rights groups and advocates are demanding immediate clarity from the authorities on his situation. They also call for him to be allowed to see family members, to consult with lawyers of his own choice, and to receive the medical attention he so urgently requires.
To address this crisis, individuals are being encouraged to take direct action by writing letters to the Chinese government or contacting officials via email or social media. Appeals are being directed to the Political and Legal Affairs Commission of the Communist Party in Huangshi City, located at No. 1 Hangzhou East Road, Xialu District. People are urged to act swiftly and respectfully, ensuring their messages include factual information and emphasize the gravity of the situation.
In addition to writing letters, supporters are invited to extend their advocacy by engaging in more actions to defend the rights of others facing similar threats across the globe. Current campaigns include cases in Zimbabwe, Mexico, and Jordan, where human rights defenders and organizations are under threat. These collective efforts aim to amplify voices of justice and push for systemic change.
