The essentials
  • Everton are preparing a bid for 20-year-old Man United striker Ethan Wheatley.
  • Ajax’s Mika Godts is close to joining Paris Saint-Germain for around €60m (£51.3m).
  • West Ham agree to sell Dan Potts to Club Brugge for €12m (£10.3m).

Everton's interest in Wheatley

Four first-team appearances for Manchester United — including three in the Premier League last season — have not given Ethan Wheatley the platform he needs. By summer’s end, he will likely leave Old Trafford for a new start. The 20-year-old has spent this season on loan with Walsall, Northampton Town and Bradford City, but his future is now expected to be decided permanently. Everton are circling, preparing a formal offer for the young forward, who has also earned caps with England’s Under-20s. With Wheatley not in Man United’s pre-season squad, a departure is imminent.

PSG closing in on Godts

While Manchester United were rumored to be in the hunt, Paris Saint-Germain have taken the lead. Mika Godts, the 21-year-old Ajax attacker, is on the verge of a €60m (£51.3m) move to France. Ajax, his current club, reportedly want that amount for a player who has contributed 25 goals and 27 assists in 113 games. Godts has already gained Champions League and Europa League experience — a detail PSG will likely value — and now the move seems all but finalized.

West Ham sells Potts to Club Brugge

West Ham United has agreed to sell midfielder Dan Potts to Club Brugge for €12m (£10.3m). The 22-year-old, with a contract extending through 2029, was expected to be a key part of their Championship push. But with Raphael Onyedika set to move to Eintracht Frankfurt, Brugge have found a replacement. Potts has only made one assist in 28 games across all competitions for West Ham, including 22 top-flight starts.

“Godts has now given the green light to make the move to the reigning European champions this summer.”
