Starting pitcher Eric Lauer carried the Dodgers through six innings, allowing only a single hit and no runs while throwing 87 pitches. His performance helped extend the team’s win streak to nine games, a stretch in which Lauer has logged a sub-three ERA (2.96) across 51.2 innings.
The bullpen took over in the seventh, keeping the lead intact. The Dodgers managed four runs on 11 hits, and despite going just 2-for-7 with runners in scoring position, they found just enough offense to seal the victory.
Andy Pages was a bright spot at the plate. After a recent slump, he launched his 18th home run of the season in the first inning and added an RBI single in the fourth. Pages finished with three hits and two RBIs.
Freddie Freeman also played a role, driving in a run with a single in the third. Shohei Ohtani capped the scoring in the sixth with an RBI double. He also made it around the bases, appearing to show improvement in his left knee.
Though the Mariners had a shot to get closer Edwin Díaz into a save situation, the right-hander ultimately retired the side in the ninth inning despite allowing a run and a hit in his lone frame.
The victory improved the Dodgers' season record to 68-40 and tied the series with Seattle. Roki Sasaki will start Thursday’s game, with the team set to host the Boston Red Sox for a three-game series later in the week.
