Celtic are preparing to host their Champions League play-off clash with LASK at Celtic Park on Wednesday, August 19. The opening match of the two-legged tie will kick off at 8pm. Following the first leg, Celtic will travel to Austria for the return match at the Oberosterreich Arena on Tuesday, August 25.
Squad requirements and transfer updates
The official announcement came through the Celtic Supporters' Liaison Officer, who shared the details of the match schedule. According to UEFA rules, Celtic are allowed to include up to two new signings in their play-off squad, as long as they are registered by 11pm on August 18. This gives the club a short window to finalize any potential last-minute acquisitions ahead of the matches.
Celtic are required to submit their final squad for the play-off round by August 13. This is an important deadline for the Champions League qualification process. Additionally, the broader UEFA submission deadline for the Champions League or Europa League extends to 11pm on September 2. This must align with the Scottish summer transfer window, which concludes at 5pm on September 3. Any signings confirmed after the UEFA cut-off on September 2 will not be included in the European squad for the match.
