The essentials
  • George Kloska, 26, has played 86 games for Bristol Bears since 2019.
  • Jimmy Halliwell, 22, was part of the England U20 World Cup-winning squad in 2024.
  • Oscar Lennon is returning to Bristol Bears for the 2026-27 season after spells in the USA and Championship.

Kloska's Commitment to Bristol Bears

George Kloska has committed to Bristol Bears with a new long-term contract. Just weeks after earning his first two caps for England, the 26-year-old has reinforced his place at the club where he came through the youth ranks. Kloska has made 86 appearances for Bristol since his 2019 debut and played off the bench in recent England victories against Fiji and Argentina.

Director of rugby Pat Lam praised Kloska's development and potential. 'George is still growing and we believe his best years are ahead of him,' Lam said, highlighting the value of Kloska's journey through the club's system.

Jimmy Halliwell, 22, has also agreed to a long-term deal with Bristol Bears. The tight-head prop has made 25 appearances for the club and was part of the England U20 side that won the 2024 World Cup. Halliwell praised the club's pathway, calling it 'inspiring' for young players. Lam described Halliwell as a player with the 'potential to become an outstanding tighthead prop,' noting his attributes and growth.

Oscar Lennon is set to return to Bristol Bears for the 2026-27 season. The scrum-half has had a series of short spells with the club over the past three years. He played 15 games for Bristol, including three during an injury crisis in the autumn of 2024.

Lennon has most recently been playing in Major League Rugby with the New England Free Jacks in the USA. Lam noted that Lennon's familiarity with the club's system and approach gives him a clear advantage.

“He's a brilliant example for the next generation of young players coming through our system that if you commit to improving every day, opportunities will come.”
What's next

Oscar Lennon will join Bristol Bears ahead of the 2026-27 season, while Kloska and Halliwell prepare to extend their roles as key figures.
