Beginning today, the Individual Apple Music subscription now carries a price of $11.99 per month, a one-dollar increase over the previous $10.99. Meanwhile, the Family plan has risen from $16.99 to $19.99 a month, and the Student plan has also climbed, now at $6.99 instead of $5.99.
Apple has also adjusted some of its Apple One bundle rates. The Individual plan remains unchanged at $19.95 per month, but the Family package now costs $27.95, a jump from $25.95. The Premier tier has also gone up, now at $39.95, up from $37.95.
Reasons behind the price shift
In a message provided to 9to5Mac, Apple explained that the adjustment stems from “rising licensing costs.” This move marks the first time Apple Music has raised its rates in almost four years. The last increase occurred in October 2022 when the Individual plan went from $9.99 to $10.99. Apple One prices were also adjusted during that time.
Other Apple services with higher costs
In October 2023, Apple increased the cost for Apple TV, Apple Arcade, and Apple News+ services, along with the related Apple One bundles. Additionally, Apple TV saw another price adjustment in August 2025. However, Apple One prices had remained steady before this latest change.
Although Apple Music remains less expensive than Spotify, the cost hikes may still impact users, especially families and students who are already managing tight budgets. Apple’s price change follows similar moves by Spotify earlier this year, which Apple had made light of on social media.
